Investors, designers and experts will converge on Lagos from June 29 to 30, this year, for the seventh edition of Lagos Leather Fair (LLF). The fair with the theme: ‘Levelling Up’, is expected to draw attention to the growth and progress within the African leather ecosystem. The event would host leather enthusiasts, manufacturers, suppliers, and industry partners across the globe.
The fair, according to Femi Olayebi, the founder of LLF, would engage attendees on pertinent issues, such as improving socio-economic impact, adopting sustainable and innovative practices, enhancing industry competition and global partnerships, as well as improving supply chain efficiency within the leather industry.
Olayebi described the LLF, which recorded 3,500 attendees in its last edition, as the third largest of its kind in Africa, coming after the South African and Ethiopian leather fairs. The far, he added, would hold at the Balmoral Convention Centre, Victoria Island, Lagos, and would feature workshops, master classes, and awards, as well as exhibitions of talented leather designers and artists.
He stated that the event would also feature a Pitch-A-Leather-Biz, where investors could hear pitches from emerging designers, including runway presentations styled by Toyin Ogundadegbe, the Style Infidel, and Beyond the Hide, a special immersive leather installation curated by Kanyinsade Ademuson, founder of the Seventh Space architectural firm.
