The Transition Committee Chairman (Mayor) for Arochukwu Local Government Area of Abia State, Joe Eze-Aru has lamented the poor state of infrastructure in most communities across the state.

The Local Government Chairman who made the lamentation while speaking to newsmen after a tour round the council headquarters, described the place as an eyesore.
He attributed the sorry sight of the Council headquarters to leaderahip failure of the past administration.
“The state of infrastructure in Arochukwu Local Government Area headquarters, tells a story of what obtains in some if not all Local Government headquarters of the state. The decaying and dilapidated infrastructure leaves one to wonder how humans can effectively function in this kind of environment.
“From the entrance, to the chairman’s office, administrative block, works, health and other departments tells no other story rather than that of abandonment and neglect for a long time.
“Some of the workers here are left with no option than to work in this unconducive environment not fit for human habitation.”
The newly inaugurated TC Chairman revealed that on his first day in office with his deputy, the were met by rodents, leaving them to work from a make shift office.
He however, promised to build a new local government headquarters befitting workers, for effective service delivery.
