LG autonomy: Governor Kefas constitutes advisory committee

Following the recent ruling by the Supreme Court granting full autonomy to Local Government tier of government, Taraba State Governor Agbu Kefas has constituted an advisory committee to come up with a roadmap for the full implementation of the autonomy in the State.

Mr Yusuf Sanda, the Chief Press Secretary to the Governor who disclosed this in a statement issued on Sunday said that the committee will be inaugurated on Monday.

A former Speaker of the State House of Assembly and present Chairman, House committee on Local Government and Traditional Affairs Mr Abel Diah who represents Mbamga Constituency is to serve as Chairman of the committee, with Mr. Ezekiel Polycarp as the Secretary.

Other members of the committee include the Secretary to the Government of the State Chief Gibon Kataps, the state Chairman, Association of Local Governments of Nigeria (ALGON) Alhaji Hassan Aminu, Mr Yakubu Maikasuwa, Lilian Jonathan and Mr Bala Hussein.
