Leave Dokubo alone, ex-militant leaders warn group

Prof.-Charles-Dokubo

Fred Ezeh, Abuja

Second phase ex-militant leaders led by “General” Akpos Gala, have said calls for the removal of the Special Assistant to the President and Coordinator of the Presidential Amnesty Programme, Prof. Charles Dokubo, was needless and a serious distraction to the programme..

The leaders described the allegation as false and accused the group of misleading the public, which they said was targeted at undermining the credibility and the impeccable character of Dokubo.

Gala, in a statement released in Abuja yesterday,  alleged that the call was orchestrated by political detractors of Dokubo who took undue advantage of the theft at the centre to discredit him and his achievements so far.

He said the protesters were hired and does not represent the interest of Niger Delta people.
