The lawmaker representing Aba Central in Abia State House of Assembly, Ucheonye Akachukwu, has lauded Governor Alex Otti for the good works he is doing in the state.

He gave the commendation when he donated food and other items, including cash to the underprivileged and others in Aba, the commercial city of the state.

Akachukwu noted the reconstruction of the popular Port Harcourt Road, Aba as one of the landmark projects that stood the Otti administration out.

He stated that his love for the underprivileged in the society, especially his constituents, knows no bounds, which made him to distribute food items to the beneficiaries through town unions, churches and orphanages.

Akachukwu recalled that earlier this year, over 400 indigent candidates benefitted from his free registration scheme for the Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examination (UTME). He promised to do more in the days ahead.

Some of the beneficiaries, who thanked the lawmaker, said he has made it possible for them to celebrate the yuletide with joy.

Ugochukwu Madu, a person living with disability and one of beneficiaries, said he has not had it so good in recent years. According to him, the bag of rice and cash given to him would make the Christmas season pleasurable for his family. He commended Akachukwu for remembering the needy and wished him well in his future endeavours.

Ahamefula Igwe, another person living with disability expressed gratitude to Akachukwu for remembering them and putting smiles on their faces.
