The lawmaker representing Bungudu/Maru Federal Constituency of Zamfara State in the House of Representatives, Hon. Dr. Abdulmalik  Zubairu Zannan Bungudu, has called for support of security agencies in combating the nefarious activities of terrorists in their communities.

He also frowned at the recent attack on Maru town in Maru Local Government Area of the state by terrorists. He made his position known during a condolence visit to Karakkai town of Bungudu LGA where he attended the funeral prayer of the late district head of Karakkai, Keku Alhaji Muhammad Bello Yusuf, who died after a brief sickness. He subsequently paid a sympathy visit to Maru town over the attack.

In his Condolence message to the family of late Chief shortly after the funeral rites, Bungudu said the demise of the late traditional ruler did not only affect members of his household or Karakkai district but the entire traditional institution in Bungudu and Zamfara State.

The lawmaker explained that despite the security threats in the affected communities, the late district head remained with his subjects and continued to support the government.  “His bravery and dedication to duty were some of the sterling qualities of the late district Head, that history would never forget.” Bungudu stated.

Bungudu, who condoled with the Emir of Bungudu, Alhaji Hassan Attahiru and family of deceased, prayed to Allah (SWT) to grant Al-jannah Fridaus to the departed.

He later proceeded to Maru town and condoled with the family of the victims of recent armed bandits attack resulting in the killing of many innocent people and abduction of others.

In a speech during the visit, Bungudu said he was heavy-hearted by the sad development in Maru town, assuring that would continue to do all things humanly possible to give his constituents the best in terms of security.
