Ladoke Akintola University of Technology (LAUTECH), Ogbomoso, Oyo State on Thursday announced that it will confer degrees, masters and diploma on 10,223 graduates with 137 obtaining First Class.

The Vice Chancellor of LAUTECH, Prof. Razaq Olatunde Kalilu, disclosed this at the briefing for the forthcoming 18th convocation ceremonies.

He said this year’s convocation ceremonies will feature a total of 10,223 graduands with
7,641 from 11 faculties for bachelor’s degrees and 2,582 are in the postgraduate category.

The VC explained that out of 7,641 in the first-degree category, 137 of them obtained First-class, 1,889 are in the Second-class upper category, 3,549 of the graduands made Second-class lower, 1,008 recorded Third-class, and 37 graduands got Pass.

He added: “For the degree in Nursing Science, there are 17 of them in Distinction, 973 of them are in credit category while 31 are graduating with Pass.”

According to him, the bachelor’s degree graduates were produced through three modes of study: regular, part-time and distance learning.

The VC announced that the overall best graduating is Oladepo Caleb Olugbenga with
a Cumulative Grade Point Average of 4.89 from the Department of Electronic and Electrical Engineering, Faculty of Engineering.

He said Oladepo will be present with the awarded on Wednesday, April 22nd, 2026.
Kalilu further stated that 2, 582 postgraduate students will be awarded postgraduate diploma in various higher degrees.

The VC said 596 graduands will be awarded academic and professional postgraduate diplomas in various disciplines while 1,850 will be admitted to academic and professional master’s degrees in various courses.

He revealed that nine will be conferred with Master of Philosophy degree, and 127 will be admitted to the Doctor of Philosophy degree.
On LAUTECH future vision, Kalilu explained that the university plans to expound its academic sphere by bringing into fruition the proposed Medical Biotechnology, Mechatronics, the Faculty of Allied Medical Sciences and its programmes and to remain globally competitive.

The LAUTECH helmsman commended the Visitor to the university, Executive Governor of Oyo State, Engineer Oluseyi Abiodun
Makinde, for his unflinching support to the institution University, which energises its growth.

He also acknowledged the Pro-Chancellor and members of the Governing Council, management, Senate and staff for their cooperation.
