LASG diverts traffic to construct culverts on Lagos-Abeokuta Expressway

As part of efforts to address the persistent flooding at Ilepo bus stop in Alimosho Local Government, the Lagos State Government has announced a traffic diversion at the Kataguwa/Ilepo axis of Lagos-Abeokuta expressway starting from Friday, August 4, 2023 The diversion will enable the state government to construct culverts in the affected area.

A statement by the Permanent Secretary, Ministry of Transportation. Engr. Abdulhafiz Toriola, disclosed that the following alternative routes would be available to motorists during the construction period:

Traffic from Iyana Ipaja towards Abule-Egba has been  diverted to the BRT lane from Iyana Ipaja, while traffic from Iyana Ipaja towards Abule Egba and traffic from Abule-Egba inward Iyana Ipaja have been diverted to service lanes.

Similarly, traffic from Abule-Egba towards Iyana Ipaja has been diverted to the BRT lane from Abule-Egba.
The Permanent Secretary advised motorists to be patient as the lane closure is part of the traffic management plan for the construction of drains across Lagos-Abeokuta expressway.
