Laju Iren Films has released the official teaser for “Onobiren,” a highly anticipated film set to hit theatres on March 6, 2026. Tickets will be available for preorder starting January 30.

“Onobiren,” which means “woman” in Itsekiri, celebrates women, faith, and African storytelling. Written and executive produced by Laju Iren, the film is directed by Famous Iraoya, known for “Finding Nina.”

Principal photography took place in Warri and Lagos, making this film the company’s largest production to date

Speaking about the project, Laju Iren stated, “Onobiren is a film that is very dear to me and to everyone at Laju Iren Films. We need more stories that elevate women and the men who support them, spotlight Africa positively, and showcase the intersection of life and faith. Shot in Warri and Lagos, this is also our biggest film in terms of production. It is fitting that this is our first film in brick-and-mortar cinemas, and we cannot wait for the world to see it.”

The film features a talented cast, including Patience Ozokwo, Deyemi Okanlawon, Bisola Aiyeola, Ruby Akubueze, Chude Jideonwo, Desmond Bryce, and others.

“Onobiren” is produced with support from Africa No Filter and CC Hub Creative Economy, aiming to tell authentic African stories that resonate across generations. The film has been selected for Entertainment Week Africa and the London Lift-Off Festival.

The teaser, which was shared in late December 2025, has generated significant buzz on social media, attracting rave reviews and building excitement ahead of its cinema release.
