Legend Hotel Airport, Lagos, has unveiled the Herbert Wigwe Auditorium, a state-of-the-art event and conference facility that is redefining meetings and events landscape in Lagos.
Named in honour of the banking magnate, late Herbert Wigwe, the auditorium represents a significant milestone for the hotel and further strengthens Lagos’ capacity to host world-class conferences, corporate gatherings, product launches, executive forums and industry events.
A statement from the hotel management explained that the new auditorium combines a modern, purpose-built design with premium audiovisual capabilities and a flexible, collapsible layout that can be adapted for different event formats, from intimate executive sessions to large-scale conferences.
Other features are contemporary interiors and high-spec facilities designed to meet international event standards, a strategic airport location, offering guests convenient access just eight to 10 minutes from both the local and international terminals of Murtala Muhammed Airport, as well as an expanded accommodation capacity, with the hotel growing from 54 rooms to 164 rooms, enabling the property to accommodate larger conferences, multi-day events and international delegates under one roof.
The statement posited that in a city where traffic and logistics often present challenges for event organisers, the auditorium offers a unique proposition, ranging from a premium conference experience with seamless airport connectivity to luxury accommodation and Hilton’s globally recognised hospitality standards.
The venue is positioned to serve a growing demand for sophisticated meeting and conference facilities in Lagos, particularly among multinational corporations, financial institutions, aviation stakeholders, technology companies, government agencies and event planners seeking convenience without compromising quality.
“The Herbert Wigwe Auditorium represents a significant investment in the future of meetings and events in Lagos. It added that the opening also reflects the continued evolution of the hotel from a boutique airport hotel into a comprehensive hospitality and events destination.
