The Samuel Mawuyon Ajose (SMA) Movement has trained a team of Permanent Voter Card (PVC) Ambassadors to support voter registration efforts across the Badagry Federal Constituency ahead of the 2027 general elections.
The training exercise brought together volunteers drawn from Badagry Local Government Area, Badagry West Local Council Development Area (LCDA), and Olorunda LCDA.
Speaking at the event, Chairman of the SMA Movement, Dr Babatunde Mesewaku, said the initiative was designed to complement the voter registration drive of the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) by encouraging eligible residents to register and participate in the electoral process.
According to him, the ambassadors will focus on communities with low voter registration figures, particularly riverine and hard-to-reach areas within the constituency.

Mesewaku disclosed that the movement had provided the necessary equipment and logistics to ensure the success of the exercise, assuring the volunteers of continued support as they embark on community mobilisation activities.
He added that some of the ambassadors would be deployed to remote communities, including Gberefu and other island settlements, where voter registration remains relatively low.
The SMA chairman noted that the initiative forms part of the movement’s broader civic engagement programme aimed at promoting voter inclusion, strengthening democratic participation, and increasing citizens’ involvement in governance across Badagry Division and Lagos State.
The trained ambassadors are expected to begin grassroots sensitisation campaigns in their respective communities in the coming weeks, encouraging eligible residents to obtain their PVCs and participate in future elections.
