Lagos monarch, Oba Folarin Ogunsanwo loses dad

There is a line in the Ecclesiastes of the Holy Book which says “To every thing there is a season, and a time to every purpose under the heaven…” For Oba Dr. Olufolarin Olukayode Ogunsanwo, the Alara of Ilara Kingdom in Epe, Lagos, these are not the best of times as His Royal Majesty is bereaved. The monarch has lost his beloved father, the patriarch and Crown Prince of the Telade Ruling House; Baba Oba Thompson Olawale Ogunsanwo.

The beloved father of the Alara transcended to a greater calling on Saturday 21 January at the age of 86. The late Baba Oba is described as a righteous, desirable role model, mentor and loving father to many of his children and wards across the globe. He dedicated his life to the worship of the Almighty God till he breathed his last. The deceased commanded deep respect from young and old, and will be sorely missed by the members of his community, friends and families.

Oba Ogunsanwo, the 55th Alara, is a modern monarch and also a grassroots man. And if there is anything that delights his heart, it is his presence amongst his subjects. Since the sad news broke, high society members have been calling at the palace of the monarch to offer their condolences.

The amiable monarch, who confirmed the passage of his beloved dad, said the family will communicate the funeral arrangements as soon as possible.
