An engineer and African Union ambassador, Chief Sola Ajimati, has declared his intention to contest the Kwara South senatorial seat in the 2027 general elections under the platform of the All Progressives Congress (APC).

Speaking with journalists in Ilorin, Ajimati, an indigene of Edidi in Isin Local Government Area, said his ambition is anchored on delivering measurable results, pledging to replace “promises with performance” if elected.

The chieftaincy title holder of Aare Atunluse of Edidi Land noted that the honour was conferred in recognition of his grassroots development efforts and community-focused leadership. He described himself as a development strategist and entrepreneur committed to building functional systems and sustainable communities.

“As Group Managing Director of Crownstar Projects Ltd and Founder of Youth Arise For Leadership Initiative (YARLI), I have implemented practical solutions in power, infrastructure, ICT, and youth development,” he said.

Ajimati highlighted his track record, citing interventions in youth empowerment, digital and vocational training, solar street lighting, road and bridge construction, borehole projects, scholarships, community security, and job creation across Edidi and Isin Local Government Area.

He added that his experience includes engagements at the highest levels of national policy, particularly in the areas of energy, ICT, and infrastructure development.

The senatorial aspirant stated that his bid is driven by a desire to provide effective and visible representation for Kwara South, stressing his commitment to delivering tangible solutions rather than political rhetoric.

“My vision is a modern Kwara South driven by opportunity, powered by infrastructure, and led by empowered people,” he said.
