KSI Construction Company Ltd has donated a landed property in Abuja and 10 motorcycles to Iru Ekun Security Network, the security outfit associated with Yoruba activist Sunday Igboho, to boost its operations.

The property is designated for the establishment of the network’s secretariat, while the motorcycles are expected to strengthen surveillance and mobility across communities and hard-to-reach areas.

The company said the donation was in recognition of the group’s commitment to community safety and the protection of lives and property.

Presenting the items, KSI Construction’s Managing Director and Chief Executive Officer, Engr. (Dr.) Koleola Emmanuel Fadeni, said the gesture reflected the company’s appreciation for individuals and organisations contributing to security and peaceful coexistence.

Fadeni stressed that tackling insecurity should not be left to the government and conventional security agencies alone, urging greater support for initiatives aimed at making communities safer.

He described the donation as more than a financial contribution, saying it was intended to recognise those making sacrifices for peace and public safety.

“This gift is our own way of appreciating the good work being done by Iru Ekun Security in contributing to the security of our nation. We also recognise and appreciate the commitment and leadership of Chief Adeniyi Sunday, popularly known as Chief Sunday Igboho Oosa. Their efforts deserve recognition and encouragement,” he said.

The KSI chief executive also commended Igboho for mobilising people around community security initiatives.

Igboho’s Security Drive Gains Corporate Support
Igboho, whose real name is Sunday Adeyemo, rose to national prominence during the 2020–2021 insecurity crisis in South-West Nigeria. He became a prominent voice in Yoruba security advocacy and self-determination campaigns.

His confrontation with suspected criminal elements in Ibarapa, Oyo State, in January 2021 drew widespread attention, attracting both support and criticism over his approach.

His activities later brought him into conflict with the Federal Government. In July 2021, operatives of the Department of State Services raided his Ibadan residence over allegations he disputed. He subsequently fled Nigeria and was arrested in Cotonou, Benin Republic, before later regaining his freedom to travel.

In recent years, Igboho has increasingly focused on community-based security initiatives. In May 2026, he announced the commencement of operations by his security outfit in forests across the South-West and Yoruba-speaking parts of Kogi and Kwara states, targeting suspected terrorists and other criminal elements.

The network has also been linked to surveillance and anti-kidnapping efforts, including reported activities around Old Oyo National Park.

Igboho Hails Donation, Calls for Wider Collaboration

Receiving the donation on behalf of Iru Ekun Security Network, Igboho expressed gratitude to KSI Construction for what he described as a generous gesture.

He said the support would motivate members of the network to intensify efforts to protect communities and support peaceful coexistence.

Igboho also pledged the group’s continued commitment to combating criminality and improving community safety.

He called for stronger collaboration among community security groups, government institutions, traditional rulers, corporate organisations and other stakeholders, stressing that collective action was essential to tackling insecurity.

According to him, the motorcycles would improve the network’s ability to move through difficult terrain and conduct surveillance in remote communities and forest areas.

The donation highlights the growing involvement of private organisations in community security initiatives, as concerns over kidnapping and other criminal activities continue to drive calls for stronger cooperation between local groups and established security agencies.

For KSI Construction, the gesture forms part of its stated commitment to corporate social responsibility and support for initiatives focused on protecting lives, property and promoting national development.
