The former governor of Kogi State, Alhaji Ibrahim Idris has said of the whole lot of candidates vying for the November 11 governorship election in kogi state, Dino Melaye who is the governorship candidate of the the people’s democratic party stands shoulder high above all of them .
The former governor while presenting Dino over the weekend to the people of the eastern senatorial district of the state, said Dino is the most competent, formidable and most experienced candidate who has the capacity to transform the state.
While saying PDP remains unshaken and undaunted inspite of some of its members who defected to the ruling party , he said the party’s structure and machinery in the state remains intact stressing that the party will spring a surprise at the November poll.
He urged the igala and Bassa which comprised the eastern senatorial district and the other two senatorial districts to come out enmass and vote for Dino who he said has been tested, trusted and confirmed capable.
In his words ” I am surprised that some people are caving into the propaganda and deception going round to throw the state into another era of hunger , starvation and underdevelopment . Please don’t be deceived the third time they have nothing to offer go out enmass and vote for the PDP to liberate yourself
“I know Dino Melaye and I can trust him, he has good pedigree of selfless service, he is a lover of the masses. He has the capacity to turn around the state if elected, he is far better than other candidates who we do not know, he has the energy and zeal to deliver the state from this excruciating poverty, therefore I urged all to vote for him ” he added
Responding Dino urged the people to come out enmass to cast their vote for the PDP during the November 11 governorship and urged them not be afraid of anyone .
He said if voted as the governor, he will rule with the fear of God and treat every segment of the state equally as he will make equity fairness and justice his watch word .
He promised to put an end to percentage payment of workers’ ‘ salaries , build roads and infrastructure , provide employment opportunities for all and embark on massive industrialization of the state .
Various party leaders and opinion leaders including youths and women organisations who spoke variously on the occasion promised to deliver their votes and that of their areas to the PDP at the November poll.
