The Kogi State governorship candidate of the Social Democratic Party (SDP) in the November 2023 election, Alhaji Murtala Yakubu Ajaka has appealed to the people of the State not to be discouraged until the electoral mandate allegedly stolen by the All Progressive Congress (APC) is reclaimed for the betterment of the people.
Ajaka along with the SDP had approached the governorship election petition tribunal, challenging the election of the APC candidate, Usman Ododo as well as his non qualification to even contest the primary election of the party.
The Tribunal is currently sitting in Abuja, hearing the petition brought before it by Ajaka, the petitioner.
In a statement on Friday, the SDP candidate said, “On this warm Friday, I want to take a moment to extend my heartfelt gratitude to every one of you who have tirelessly stood by our cause, no matter the challenges we face. Overcoming oppression and intimidation is never easy, but together, we can find the strength to rise above it and achieve victory.
“I want you to remember that our fight is not just about us; it is about creating a better future for all. It is about standing up for justice, equality, and compassion. The path we have chosen may be filled with obstacles, but let us not forget that history is shaped by the persistence and resilience of those who refuse to surrender.

But we must never lose sight of our goals and the positive change we hope to create in our beloved State.
