The Church of Christ in Nations (COCIN) has expressed support for the intervention of President Donald Trump of the United States of America, over the on-going genocide of Christian communities in Nigeria.
The church said the Nigerian government has failed to decisively stop the monster. The COCIN president, Rev. Amos Mozho, said the unabated and callous killing of Christians all over the states of Nigeria, particularly Benue and Plateau states, by suspected Fulani terrorists and Islamic fundamentalists, such as Boko Haram, ISWAP and Al-Qaida, amounts to genocide in Nigeria.
The Church made this position known at the end of its 108th General Church Council (GCC) meeting held at the COCIN headquarters in Jos, Plateau State, where the President, Mozho was re-elected for the second term after completing his first four years tenure.
The newly elected President ,while addressing delegates and all COCIN members around the whole condemned the continuous killing of their Pastors, members and land grabbing by terrorists, and urged members to take proactive actions to defend themselves henceforth.
According to Mozho,”At the end of the 108th General Church Council (GCC) of the Church of Christ in Nations held at the COCIN headquarters Church, Jos, Plateau state. The Church welcomes the show of interest by the International Community, particularly the President of the United States of America, Donald J.Trump, over the on-going genocide of Christian communities in Nigeria, which the Nigerian government has failed to decisively eradicate.

“Unequivocally states that the unabated and callous killings of Christians all over the states of Nigeria, particularly Benue and Plateau states by Fulani terrorists and Islamic fundamentalists (Boko Haram; ISWAP, Al-Qaida) amounts to genocide.
“Laments and condemns the continuous killing of her Pastors, members and land grabbing by the Fulani terrorists, and urges members to take proactive actions to defend themselves,” he strongly stated
The COCIN President called on the Nigerian government to rise up and be decisive, uncompromising in dealing with all forms of criminality, while condemning in the strongest terms the “immoral and informal arrangements the government is making with bandits and radical Islamist terrorists,” which only promotes criminality and undermines the rule of law.
The Church expressed its readiness to support traditional institutions towards fostering peace and security, noting the is the need for a forum where Church leaders and Traditional rulers will engage in continuous dialogues on security matters for their communities.
Mozho cautions COCIN Clergy to be conscious of the sanctity of the Church and the sacredness of the pulpit and its usage.
“The Church calls on COCIN leaders and members to diligently avoid any form of speech, conduct and activity during their worship that could incite division, promote political bias and weaken the Unity of the Body of Christ,” as they marked 121 years of existence as a Church.
