President Bola Tinubu’s renewed hostility against insecurity in the country examplified by the recent arrest of the abductors of National Youth Service Corps (NYSC) members, has continued to attract the commendations of many concerned Nigerians.

Among those commending President Tinubu include frontline stalwart of the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC), Iliyasu Musa Kwankwaso.

The APC chieftain, in a signed statement made available to newsmen in Abuja on Saturday, described the development as a significant boost to public confidence in the nation’s security architecture.

Kwankwaso further stated that the arrests demonstrated a renewed determination by the Tinubu administration to pursue criminal elements responsible for threatening the safety of Nigerians, particularly young citizens serving the country under the NYSC scheme.

Commending the administration’s response to the incident, the APC chieftain explained that it has sent a strong message that kidnapping and other forms of violent crime would not be allowed to go unchallenged.

“The NYSC remains an important instrument of national integration, bringing young Nigerians from different parts of the country together in the service of the nation, and therefore deserved maximum protection from criminal networks.

“The reported breakthrough was particularly significant because public confidence in security institutions is strengthened when citizens see concrete action following attacks and other security breaches.

“The ability of security agencies to track and apprehend suspected perpetrators would not only serve the cause of justice but also help deter others who may be planning similar crimes,” he noted.
The APC stalwart equally commended the security agencies involved in the operation, urging them to sustain intelligence-driven efforts aimed at dismantling kidnapping networks and preventing their resurgence.

“The development was consistent with President Tinubu’s broader commitment to strengthening national security, protecting citizens and creating an environment in which Nigerians could pursue their livelihoods without fear,” he noted in the statement.

Kwankwaso therefore urged Nigerians to continue supporting legitimate security efforts by providing timely and credible information to the authorities, stressing that the fight against kidnapping and other violent crimes required cooperation between security agencies and communities.

While expressing optimism that sustained coordination, improved intelligence gathering and decisive action against criminal elements would further consolidate the gains recorded under the Tinubu administration, he noted that; “the latest development had helped to rekindle public confidence in the government’s capacity to protect Nigerians.”
