The Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), Kebbi State, has disassociated and disown Alhaji Kabir Tanimu Turaki as the consensus Chairmanship candidate from the Northwest states of Nigeria.
State Public Relations Officer (PRO) of the Party,Alhaji Sani Dododo confirmed this to newsmen after the emergency meeting of the party’s members held in Birnin Kebbi.
It could be recalled that PDP Governors were said to be supporting Kabiru Tanimu Turaki as the consensus Chairmanship candidate from the Northwest.
While addressing newsmen after their meeting, Dododo explained that there was no time the former Minister of Special Duties under the former President Goodluck Jonathan met the state PDP executive or members to discuss his ambition with them.

According to him, ” this is the stand of the executive Council meeting of PDP that was held for the past three hours on the insinuation going round some quarters in the past few days that Kabiru Tanimu Turaki has been adopted as the consensus to contest the National Chairman of PDP.
“There is no time, no day or at any meeting where Kabiru Tanimu Turaki came to Kebbi to seek for the support of PDP or that of elders of the PDP in the state that he want to contest for the seat of national Chairman of PDP.
“Secondly, PDP in Kebbi state has taken a decision after our extensive deliberations that we are in support, unanymously in support of the decision taken by the North West leaders that free opportunity should be given to every members,every states from the Northwest to sit down and select the right candidate to represent Northwest for the PDP national Chairman according to the zoning system of the PDP.
“Last but not the least, PDP in Kebbi state disown in totality the decision taken by those who announced Kabiru Tanimu Turaki being a consensus candidate from Kebbi State.
“Therefore,we are backing the decision of the Northwest that everyone in the zone should should sit- down to select the candidate for the Northwest”,.
