About 23 female students from less privileged homes in Suru Local Government Area of Kebbi State have been given scholarship to studies various programmes at the State College of Health Sciences and Technology.
They were given the scholarship by Barrister Faruku Abubakar Maisudan, a member representing Suru Constituency at Kebbi State House of Assembly.
Special Adviser on Media and publicity to the Lawmaker, Mallam Ahmad Usman Mairukubta confirmed this in a statement made available to newsmen in Birnin Kebbi.
According to him, “in his continuous efforts to support less-privilege in the society to further their education, the Honorable member representing Suru Constituency at Kebbi State House of Assembly, Hon Barr Faruku Abubakar Maisudan presented Offer of Admission of Kebbi State College of Health Sciences and Technology of different programs to 23 indigenes of Suru Local Government Area”.
Mairukubta qouted the Lawmaker during his remark at the presentation of the admission letters to the beneficiaries to have said that,the presentation was part of his scholarship program for the less privileged in his Constituency.
” This is part of my pledges to provide more health workers in all the eleven wards in the constituency. That is why I took this decision to provide full scholarships to 23 students of the college who were mostly female students.
“Hon Maisudan said education is a key driver to attain any meaningful development, progress, prosperous, equitable, and sustainable society. We shall continue to give Education sector a priority attention to improve it.
“Education is crucial for individuals and society as a that is why I gave it special consideration in discharging my responsibility as a parliament”
Maisudan, who urged the beneficiaries to make use of this opportunity judiciously, said each of the beneficiaries would be entitled to full payment of registration fees and other logistical expenses.
In a votes of thanks on behalf of the parent of the beneficiaries, the Lamido Dakingari Alh Jafar Haliru Mutube II, commended Maisudan for his exemplary leadership and contributions to education, saying that his domain is blessed to have Maisudan as their representative.
Lamidon Dakingari further said today’s program was the 3rd batch of Maisudan Scholarships scheme, adding that just last months Hon Maisudan granted scholarships to students of Suru Local Government to study at Kebbi State Polytechnic and JIBEIS COE Jega.
