Kebbi govt. to give Corps members posted to schools as teachers automatic employment

Kebbi NYSC seeks completion of male hostel, staff quarters, camp fence

Kebbi State Government has promised to retain and give automatic employment to any Corps members posted to it’s schools as teachers who might have performed and distinguished themselves during their service years.

Commissioner for Youths and Sports Development, Comrade Muhammad Nura Fingiler stated this while declaring open a workshop organised by the corps, tagged” 2023 corps employers workshop in Birnin Kebbi with a theme ” evolving strategies for promoting a healthy work life balance for corps members -the role of employer

Fingiler explained that the State Governor,Dr. Nasir Idris has declared his administration readiness to retain corps members posted to the state own schools.

According to him, ” His Excellency,Governor Nasir Idris as a former teacher is ready to retain corps members posted to schools. Those who distinguished themselves during the service year would get automatic employments at the end of their service”, he said..

Fingiler commended the state NYSC coordinator for the harmonious working relationship with Kebbi government and assured the corps of adequate security of their lives and property through out their service years.

He described the workshop as timely which would go along way in fostering a deep good working relationship between corps members and their employers.

Fingiler noted that the welfare and right of corps members must be protected at various places of primary assignments.

 

Earlier, thhe Director General, National youth service Corps,represented by the Kebbi state co-ordinator NYSC Mrs. Okolo Agatha Banki called on employers of corps members in the state to stop shielding corps members deployed to their establishments on any form of crime.

She said that the scheme would not hesitate to sanction those in the habit of covering their offences while serving the nation under them.

Banki, condemned act of covering absentism and abscondments by corps posted for their primary assignment and shielded by their employers stressed that corps members entrusted under them must be exposed when found to be engaged in illicit activities.

 

She urged employers to be honest and continue aiding corps members in the execution of community development projects beneficial to the host community.
