Kebbi State Governor, Dr Nasir Idris has released the sum of N266,964,560 as tuition fees for the 100 students studying in various universities in India.

Commissioner for Higher Education,Alhaji Isah Abubakar Tunga confirmed this during a press briefing in his office, Birnin Kebbi.

Tunga, represented by the Acting Permanent Secretary, Usaini A. Tata described the gesture as great action which would go along way in the history of the State education sector.

According to him, “the Kebbi State Government under the able leadership of His Excellency, DR. Nasir Idris, the Education Promoter has approved and released the payment of Tuition Fees of 266,964,560 for the 100 students of Kebbi State indigenes studying in various universities in India.

“The Ministry for Higher Education remains indebted to His Excellency Comrd. DR. Nasir Idris. No doubt the efforts of His Excellency towards promoting academic and moral excellence in the Tertiary Education Sector shall go into the Annals of history.

“The Kebbi State Ministry for Higher Education implore the entire citizens of Kebbi State to continue to pray in both their individual and collective prayers for the continued success of this Administration”.
