Kebbi State Governor Dr Nasir Idris has distributed 24 first class Toyota Jeeps to the members of the Kebbi State House of Assembly for official engagement as part of his commitment and promises to the lawmakers.
The presentation ceremony of the vehicles to the Speaker and members of the Assembly was performed by the governor at Government House, Birnin Kebbi.
The governor thanked the Legislators for their cooperation and understanding with the Executive Arm, saying that he has enjoyed absolute harmonious working relationship with the Assembly.
Idris was also commended the Commissioners and leadership of the ruling APC for their support and loyalty to the administration.
According to him, “God destined positions to us not because we are better, we must do justice to all. All hands must be on deck to satisfy the yearnings and aspirations of our people. My administration has been implementing programmes and executing projects as dividends of democracy”, he said.
Governor Idris described the vehicles distributed to the Assembly members as brand new ones purchased from the company with valid paid customs duty.
“So far, we have provided 30 new vehicles to Security Agencies, 28 new vehicles to Commissioners and now 24 new vehicles to Legislators, while new Toyota Hilux vehicles have been bought for Chairmen of Boards and Parastatals,” he announced.
