The Deputy Governor of Kano State, Aminu Abdussalam Gwarzo, has expressed deep sadness over the death of his childhood friend and political ally, Sarki Aliyu Daneji, while describing him as an honest, hardworking and humble person.
Late Daneji, who represented Kano Municipal Constituency in the Kano State House of Assembly, died on Wednesday afternoon, about an hour after the death of another lawmaker, Aminu Sa’ad Ungogo, who represented Ungogo Constituency.
This was contained in a statement by the deputy governor’s press secretary, Ibrahim Garba Shuaibu yesterday.
According to Garba, the deputy governor said: “I lost a friend I grew up with. He was not only my close friend but also my political ally. Late Sarki Aliyu was a simple, friendly and committed person who dedicated his life to service.”

He stated that the late lawmaker served Kano State and Nigeria with a strong commitment and sense of responsibility and noted that his good work would always be remembered.
He also sent his condolences to the families, friends and associates of the late lawmaker, as well as to the Government and people of Kano State. The deputy governor encouraged those mourning to take comfort in the good legacy left behind by Daneji, whose contributions to the development of Kano State and the country will not be forgotten.
“I pray that Almighty Allah forgives his shortcomings and grants him Aljannatul Firdaus. May Allah also give his family and the entire Muslim Ummah the strength to bear this loss,” he said.
He also prayed for the peaceful rest of Aminu Sa’ad Ungogo and asked Allah to comfort and strengthen his family during this difficult time.
