Emeka Nwala, the chief of staff to the Senator representing Abia North District, Senator Orji Uzor Kalu, has been elected the chairman of the 10th National Assembly Legislative Aides Forum (NASSLAF), after securing 29 votes to beat his opponent, Afeez who polled 19 votes.
Following his declaration, Nwala, who holdshas over 20 years experience in the legislative arm of government, will preside over legislative aides drawn from the Senate and House of Representatives, including the Chiefs of Staff to the Senate President and Speaker, Deputies, Principal officers and aides of lawmakers of both chambers.
In his acceptance speech, Emeka Nwala, a lawyer, thanked the Central Working Committee for voting massively for him to emerge the winner and appreciated the Electoral Committee, as well as, other stakeholders for seeing to a free, fair and credible election.
He reiterated his commitment to the welfare of all aides and called on his co-contestant to join him in moving NASSLAF forward.
