The c has recorded significant operational breakthroughs in its ongoing fight against banditry, kidnapping, gunrunning and other violent crimes across the state.
Addressing journalists, Commissioner of Police, (CP) Rabiu Muhammad, disclosed that within the last two weeks, the Command carried out intelligence-led clearance operations targeting identified bandits’ camps and criminal hideouts in Kajuru, Tafa, Igabi and Kauru Local Government Areas.
According to the CP , several bandits’ camps were successfully dislodged during the February 2026 operations.
“In the course of fierce gun battles, some bandits were neutralised, while others reportedly fled with gunshot injuries. The operations also led to the arrest of suspected informants and drug suppliers linked to criminal networks.
“As a result of the coordinated raids, many suspected notorious bandits and five alleged gunrunners were arrested.
“Arms and other items recovered include:three English AK-47 rifles, 21 fabricated firearms, one SMG rifle, two English pistols, four fabricated pistols, as well as a large quantity of hard drugs”. CP said.
In a related development, operatives of the Anti-Kidnapping Unit, acting on credible intelligence, arrested Adamu Aminu of Jaji Town in Igabi Local Government on February 20, 2026, at about 9:00 p.m.
He was found in possession of six fabricated AK-47 rifles, three fabricated revolver rifles, two fabricated pistols, seven English AK-47 magazines and a black Wellco boot.
Another suspect, Abubakar Hassan of Unguwar Rogo in Jos North, was also apprehended in connection with the case. Preliminary investigations indicate that the suspects are involved in illegal arms fabrication and supply, allegedly fueling criminal activities within and beyond Kaduna State.

Police said efforts were ongoing to dismantle the wider syndicate and trace the distribution network of the recovered weapons.
Similarly, on February 17, 2026, police operatives intercepted and arrested three suspects:Peter Pama and Saleh Monday, both of Iburu, and Sunday Makama of Kasuwan Magani over an alleged illegal arms transaction.
The suspects were found in possession of a locally fabricated AK-47 rifle and a fabricated pump-action gun. Investigation into the matter is ongoing.
CP Muhammad said the achievements underscore the Command’s commitment to proactive, intelligence-driven policing aimed at cutting off the supply chain of illegal arms fuelling violent crimes in the state.
He reiterated that the Command remains resolute in dismantling all criminal networks operating within Kaduna State, while strengthening community partnership, enhancing intelligence gathering and sustaining aggressive operations against all forms of criminality.
The Commissioner expressed appreciation to the Inspector-General of Police, Kayode Adeolu Egbetokun, for his leadership and guidance, as well as to the Kaduna State Government for its logistical support.
He also commended officers and men of the Command for their professionalism and courage.
He further thanked members of the public for providing credible information, describing community support as critical to the Command’s successes.
“Together, we shall ensure that Kaduna State remains secured for all law-abiding citizens,” he said.
