The ruling on an application by the prosecutor to amend the charges against the owner of Hilton Hotel, Ile-Ife, Rahmon Adedoyin, and six staff of the hotel involved in the alleged killing of Timothy Adegoke, a Master’s student of Obafemi Awolowo University (OAU), was stalled by the absence of Justice Adepele Ojo, who is handling the matter.
The parties on June 27 argued the amendment application brought before the court by Femi Falana, SAN, chamber, who is prosecuting the case.
Justice Ojo adjourned to July 14 for ruling on the argument canvassed on whether to allow the prosecution to amend the charges or refused the amendment as prayed by the defence counsels.
The judge was said to have travelled out of the country when the matter came up and the case was further adjourned to July 20 when the judge is expected to have returned to the country.
