Face of Nigeria Queen, Miss Joy Nguma,  has inaugurated her foundation, Joy Nguma Foundation as she kick-starts her pet project.

According to Nguma who trounced 20 other contestants to clinch the crown for Face of Nigeria Beauty pageant, the foundation is committed to improving the quality of the life of disadvantaged Nigerians.

Nguma also launched a campaign dedicated to the eradication of human trafficking especially young Nigeria women and girls. She revealed that the foundation’s long term mission is to create a Nigeria where all people have access to affordable health care, education and equal opportunities.

Speaking, Nguma began: “A reigning Queen’s office has gone beyond mere business and advert endorsements. The vision now is to create reach out programmes to better the lives of the less privileged in our midst. So far, the drive has been overwhelming. The reception I got when I visited some communities in Lagos, especially Makoko in Yaba was encouraging. The children ran to me after the show saying they wanted to go with me and I was touched hence I have vowed to do more for them.”

Speaking, Chief Executive Officer, Face of Nigeria beauty pageant, Ozoya Salami said: “I think this is the start of a good journey. The foundation was properly launched and Miss Joy Nguma is very prepared for the project. Nguma is a kind-hearted person who will be committed to giving back to society. Talking about funding, many donors have shown interest and my organisation will work with the donors to actualise her dreams.”
