… moves to organise training

From Charity Nwakaudu, Abuja

Director General, Nigeria Geological Survey Agency, (NGSA) Dr Abdulrazaq Garba has said that the journalists covering solid minerals and steel sector would play prominent roles in the diversification strategy of the Tinubu Led administration.

The DG stated when the Exco members of the Solid Minerals development correspondents led by Mrs. Georgina Humphrey paid him a visit in his office, in Abuja.

Dr Garba appreciated the services of the correspondence but insisted on the need for trainings to breach the gab between the journalists and the sector’s terminologies

He said” I said thank you because your beats solid minerals and steel, have been trying its best to cover the sector effectively, the coming of the Minister who is also a journalist has stepped up the visibility of the sector in the media.

I’m sure you will agree with me that the current administration intent to diversify the economy using the solid minerals and role of the press can never be understated. The press is needed that is why he is always in the press commissioning or some policies.

I want to assure you that NGSA will not be behind. You will recollect that I promised organising a training for you journalists on the beat,we intend doing the training because there is a gab and misusing of some terminology in the sector. This is not limited to people in the press because even some professional do make mistakes.”
