Mayhem was averted on Friday when inmates in the Jos Correction Center in Plateau state protested against their officials over poor quality of food given to tjrm.
The inmates also alleged that upon that they got the hint of plans to reduce the portion of food being served to them .
Eye witness said that the protest would have turned violent but for the intervention of the armed squad of the Correction Service and Police patrol team who arrived the scene and arrested the situation.
As at the time of writing, t calm has been restored at the correctional center
