An Israeli missile strike has hit the Tehran office of Qatari-based broadcaster Al Araby TV, causing significant damage and forcing the station off air, according to the network.

In a statement posted on X, the channel said, “An Israeli missile targets the Al Araby TV channel building in the capital, Tehran… extensive damage and the suspension of live broadcasting.”

Images and video from the scene showed shattered glass, broken windows and debris strewn across the office, while surrounding streets were also littered with fragments from the blast.

The bureau chief, Hazem Kallas, said he was delivering a live report when the missile struck. He later shared footage of the four-storey building, which appeared heavily damaged, particularly on the lower floors.

Kallas noted that the affected structure is located in a mixed-use neighbourhood in northeastern Tehran, housing not just the media office but also a physiotherapy centre, a beauty salon, a dental clinic and a café.

It remains unclear whether the media office was the intended target, as authorities have yet to provide details on the strike’s objective.

The incident adds to growing concerns about the safety of journalists and civilian infrastructure as the conflict deepens. Earlier this month, Russia’s state-backed broadcaster RT also reported damage to its office in northern Tehran following a similar strike.

The war, which began on February 28 after coordinated attacks by the United States and Israel, has since expanded across the Middle East, with key urban centres and civilian facilities increasingly caught in the crossfire.
