In a bid to promote love, kindness and community development, a non governmental organization, Isolo Moms Club has distributed 250 exercise books to Ire Akari Estate Model School, Ishaga-Isolo, Lagos.
Its founder, Temitope Fawehinmi said the organisation was formed with the aim of creating a sense of community togetherness and to spread love and kindness within the Isolo community.
She said the book distributing exercise to pupils of Ire Akari Estate Model School, Isolo was done solely by 15 awesome mothers.
“We came up with everything you see today. We are looking at doing different pet projects like this, this is one of our first major projects,” she said.
Fawehinmi said Isolo Moms was looking at reaching out to more children and women in the community by organissuing another major event tagged Isolo Clean Up.
“We want to visit the primary healthcare centre, General Hospital Isolo to give whatever we can give to help women,” Fawehinmi said.
Corroborating, co-founder of the group, Peace Aiyedogbon said the club was established to create a common ground where women could relate and help each other and bring positive change to the community.
“We discovered that we can’t leave everything to the government. There are a lot of public schools in the community where children lack the basics that they need, including exercise book. These things do not cost too much, we just believe we can task ourselves as mothers to see where we can help,” she said.
A staff at the school, Mrs. Yusuf expressed appreciation to the Isolo Moms for their kind gesture towards the children and encouraged them to do more for the school in future.
