Hundreds of scholars who rose from a meetings in Kano, have agreed to vote for the PDP Muslims and Christians ticket as against Muslim/Muslim ticket endorsed by the ruling APC.
The coordinator of the Amalgamated Union of Islamic scholars Sheikh Abba Koki declared on Thursday that the union has endorsed Christian /Muslim ticket of Atiku Abubakar of the People’s Democratic Party (PDP) for the promotion of National Unity in the country.
According to him, the Council endorsed Muslim/ChristianTickets, which is an opportunity to save Nigeria from religious disharmony adding that, the decision of All Progressive Congress (APC) to introduce Tinubu/Shettima ticket is amount to betrayal of Nigeria Confederational settings which allows for both Muslims and Christian to be together under one.
“Atiku Abubakar has been a Vice President of Nigeria and this position is what remains for him to fulfill his long term desires of a better Nation. we have amongst us members of different Islamic sects and members political Parties of APC, NNPP and many other Parties with some Businessmen, so as you can see is not even about Political Parties platforms”
