Political commentator Isaac Fayose has called on the presidential candidate of the African Action Congress (AAC), Omoyele Sowore, to work with other opposition parties ahead of the 2027 general elections to challenge the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC).
Fayose made the appeal while reacting to the alleged attack on Sowore and members of his campaign team in Ekiti State on Friday.
He said he was not sympathetic towards Sowore over the incident, accusing the AAC candidate of repeatedly attacking the presidential candidate of the Nigeria Democratic Congress (NDC).
According to Fayose, Sowore and other opposition figures should set aside their differences and unite against the APC-led government of President Bola Tinubu, whom they have a common political interest in challenging.
In a video he shared on his Facebook page, Fayose said, “instead of attacking Peter Obi, you can see now that we have a bigger enemy. APC led by President Bola Tinubu is the enemy of our country.
“They are the ones destroying our democracy, they are the ones killing our democracy. We need to come together to fight them.
“You are busy attacking Peter Obi and now you have been attacked. You can see.
“When they did it to us in Benue, Plateau and other places, you were looking. You think you are the actor but now you are in the hospital. Democracy in Nigeria is gone.
“I don’t feel sorry for you. Leave Obi alone let us concentrate on the real enemy of the people which is APC. Let us join hands to chase them away”.
