For Adeyemo Ireayomide, winner of Miss Decency Africa 2026, confidence earned her the prestigious crown.

Ireayomide was proclaimed winner of the pageantry, a colourful event that celebrated modesty, confidence, culture and youth empowerment, with contestants drawn from different African countries showcasing elegance, intelligence and career aspirations.

Speaking after her victory, Ireayomide said her confidence had inspired her to participate in the beauty contest. “I love fashion and I enjoy showcasing myself. I love to be seen. I thank my mother, manager, father and most importantly, God for the opportunity,” she enthused.

According to Ireayomide, her journey to the crown was not without challenges, especially in the area of marketing. She struggled to secure a photographer and almost gave up during camp activities. Despite the obstacles, however, the queen remained determined to succeed, spreading the message of decency.

“I am confident, and my goal is to win and preach decency. Even if I am not the queen, nothing will change because other contestants really tried,” she stressed.

The contestant in the Little Miss category, Chantel Princess Adetomiwa, encouraged young people to believe in themselves and never lose hope after failure. She added that setbacks should not discourage anyone because there will always be another opportunity to succeed.

“You should believe in yourself and when you fail, you will have other chances to win some other time,” she said.

Convener of the pageant, Pastor (Mrs) Joychris Onyejuiwa, expressed gratitude to God and urged those who attended the event to celebrate Miss Decency Africa 2026. She also appreciated the sponsors who believed in the vision of the platform and supported its success.

Onyejuiwa, an educator and currently the Principal of Almondsprings Schools, and also Senior Pastor at King’s Throne of Glory Ministry, said her passion is to see young women empowered intellectually, spiritually, morally and financially, despite the current economic situations.

“We do it for the future of the girls. That is the drive,” she noted, adding that part of the funding for the programme came from personal resources and goodwill support.

The pastor called on individuals and organisations to support the initiative, stressing that passion and commitment are necessary for anyone who wants to make positive impact. She disclosed plans to transform the programme into a bi-annual event with better planning and fresh innovations.

Other contestants of the pageant included Olajide Iyanuoluwa Kendra and Adewale Oyindamola representing Miss Decency Africa Ghana, Ndubisi Amarachi (Kenya), Chigozie Favour (Ethiopia), Ndubisi Miracle (Gambia), Ireayomide Adeyemo (Liberia), and Benita Okwuka (Nigeria).
