Iran conflict: Israel warns of ‘more havoc’ after missile strike

Isaac Herzog on Monday visited a missile impact site in central Israel, warning that continued attacks by Iran would only bring “more havoc” upon the Islamic republic.

Herzog made the remarks after inspecting a residential building damaged by a missile strike in Rishon LeZion, a coastal city near Tel Aviv.

According to the Israeli leader, the missile carried cluster munitions that exploded inside a family’s living room, causing extensive destruction.

“They don’t understand that what they’re doing simply will bring more havoc on them,” Herzog said after touring the damaged home.

Photographs released by the president’s office showed a devastated living room with shattered windows, damaged walls and debris scattered across the floor, highlighting the force of the explosion.

Israel’s emergency response agency, Magen David Adom, confirmed that a woman sustained minor injuries in the attack despite taking shelter during the strike.

Herzog condemned the use of cluster munitions, which disperse multiple smaller explosives over a wide area, describing them as “the weapon of the weak… those guys from Iran.”

More than 100 countries have signed the Convention on Cluster Munitions adopted in 2008, which prohibits the use, production and stockpiling of such weapons, although neither Israel nor Iran is a party to the agreement.
