In a resounding endorsement of gender inclusivity, the Batta Kingdom of Demsa Local Government Area, Adamawa State, has thrown its support behind global efforts advocating for accelerated development through gender equality.
His Royal Majesty, Hama Batta, Humon Alhamdu Gladstone Teneke (DIYOSHIFATO, TIKULO BATTA, KPANGGASHYE), voiced his unwavering support for women’s rights on the occasion of International Women’s Day.
In a statement signed by their spokesperson, chief Ladi Bala and sent to Sun on Friday noted that His majesty paid tribute to the resilience and invaluable contributions of women within the kingdom and across Nigeria, recognising their pivotal role in nation-building.
“Our women are the bedrock of our society, contributing immensely to peaceful coexistence, family values, and economic prosperity,” remarked the monarch.
Chief Ladi Bala, relayed the monarch’s call to action, urging Nigerians to prioritise gender inclusion and invest in women’s empowerment. Emphasising the need for collective responsibility, the Hama Batta appealed to stakeholders to bolster educational and entrepreneurial opportunities for women within the kingdom.
“The alarming rate of out-of-school children, especially girls, demands urgent attention and concerted efforts from all sectors of society,” stated Chief Ladi Bala.
Expressing concern over Nigeria’s economic challenges, the Hama Batta underscored the importance of unity and collaboration to overcome adversity. He encouraged youth, men, and women to embrace agriculture as a means to enhance economic value and food security.
In his closing remarks, Chief Ladi Bala reiterated the Hama Batta’s commitment to fostering an inclusive society that harnesses the potential of all its citizens.
