In commemoration of the International Day of Education, the National Association of Seadogs, Pyrates Confraternity, Zanas Deck recently organised a debate for students of Ansar-ud-deen Grammar School, Junior and Senior in Surulere, Lagos on the topic ‘‘Is Education a Solution or Threat to World Peace’’.
Speaking on the sidelines of the programme, Capoon of NAS, Zanas Deck, Mr.Nnamdi Agulonu, noted that part of activities outlined towards celebrating the Day was aimed at creating more exposure for the students in order to have a global understanding of what they learn on a daily basis.
On the debate, Agulonu said the objective was aimed to encourage healthy competition and celebrate the significance of education in our society.
“This initiative marks the beginning of what we hope will be a fruitful collaboration with your esteemed institution. It aligns with one of the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) that we are committed to achieving – promoting and encouraging education,” he said.
Reacting to the gesture, Principal of Ansar-UD-Deen Grammar School Surulere, Mr.Badru Habeeb Adeniran, commended the Pyrates confraternity for their thoughtful intervention in the education sector.
The debate winners were rewarded with cash gift to serve as a morale boaster and also to encourage them that there is reward for hard work.
