The Chief of Defence Staff (CDS), General Christopher Musa, has solicited the support between the Armed Forces of Nigeria and the South African National Defence Force, to curb the menace of insurgency and other multifaceted security challenges bedeviling the African continent.
The CDS made the call when he visited the Chief of South Africa National Defence Force (SANDF), Gen. Rudzani Maphwanya, in Pretoria, South Africa.

Gen Musa, who described the meeting as a panacea for addressing the multifaceted challenges bedeviling the continent, said that the need for cooperation and reinforcement of bilateral ties has become necessary to guarantee the peace and stability of the continent.
The CDS, in a statement signed by the director Defence information Brigadier General Tukur Gusau, said the closed-door meeting focused on various measures to address regional security challenges, exchange of expertise and forging stronger ties between the two countries for the betterment of the continent.
Gusau, who said the CDS, also honoured with cannon gun salutes as a mark of high regard during the visit, said the meeting was attended by the SANDF Chiefs of Intelligence, Policy and Plans, International Affairs and Joint Operations, amongst other departmental chiefs of the SANDF.
