Showbiz promoter and oil and gas businessman, John Enabudoso, popularly known as Boborazzi, has explained why he is today´s famous promoter of Ajegunle.

In this detailed interview with The Sun, the proud father of two lovely girls sheds more lights on what life is like in AJ City as  it’s fondly called.

Excerpts;

Can you tell us more about yourself and what do?

John Enabudoso aka Boborazzi, CEO LGD Ent and LGD Energy, founder of Ajegunletotheworld. I am from Edo State, Esan South East Local Government, Ohordua. I was brought up in Ajegunle;  from a Christian family of 5 siblings. The 3rd child of my parent. I am married with two daughters. I hate lies, love truth and I always stand by the truth. I’m hardworking, straight forward, diligent.

Showbiz and oil and gas why? They are not related after all.

This is what happens when you realize you have to work and make money to be able to pursue your dream, entertainment has always been something I have passion for but I realized coming into the industry as an executive producer, you need funds to active your goal.

Tell us how you are able to combine showbiz with the oil business?

For me nothing is difficult as long as I have made up my mind to do it, as a businessman I don’t think you have to venture into one business, although it’s challenging when you have to work day and night just to put this two business on but like I said once I see a light at the end of any tunnel I do all my best to reach the end, I love success story and good result.

You pride yourself an ambassador of Ajegunle. Use this opportunity to tell outsiders what makes AJ City special?
Some years ago, I was given an ambassadorial position in Ajegunle for my contribution towards humanity in the community. I must tell you Ajegunle is one of the best community in Africa, if not the world. Although it’s a ghetto but it has done more good in the country that have been underrated in past years, a place that has birthed a lot  of icons and highly respected individuals in Nigeria regardless of the little or no support from the government; all they did was to survive through talent majorly and other sector in the industry.
Your Ajegunle To The World initiative, how did you get the inspiration? What have you been doing to keep the kite flying?
As a man who is proud of the place Ajegunle, I promised myself that I will use my resources in the entertainment industry to support and encourage the talent in Ajegunle, so as to engage the youth not to deviate from what Ajegunle is known for. I saw lapses and I was trying to close it, and this brought the idea of Ajegunletotheworld project. The word (To The World) came about when I realize there is no country in the world you will go and you won’t find someone from ajegunle, as long as there is black you will definitely see one, as Ajegunle was known for men who strive to survive and they are not lazy as many thinks, there are bad eggs in Ajegunle same way we have those bad eggs in other ghetto communities.

I birthed the word (To The World) through this project which everybody uses today on their hashtags, event and even in song lyrics, it has become a house hold name today.

How did Covid-19 affect your businesses in 2020  or disrupted your plans and what is your recovery process?

Covid has been my worst nightmare, it have affected everything about my entertainment business as we could not work due to everyone trying to stay safe. Last year 3 major events were canceled, only a fellow promoter can feel my pain regarding this. The oil and gas was also slow as the covid increased our debtors list and also reduced demands. Many businesses were not working same hours like before COVID, so I will say covid has really affected me but we thank God we keep moving and surviving.

What is the big lesson of life that anyone can take away from the Ajegunle narrative?

Like I use to tell people if you grew up in Ajegunle and you are not wise and strong, you can never be wise anywhere you go. The hood was like a training ground to raise stars from nothing to something, and generally it’s a place that tells everyone nothing is impossible from looking at people who have emerge from that hood you should understand me better..

Talking about the Ajegunle To The World Project, how are the icons of Ajegunle involved in your activities?

One of the aim of the project Ajegunletotheworld was to celebrate those icons that have come out of the great community so as to encourage the young minds in there to buckle up and keep aiming high. Getting this icon to identify with the hood was a great involvement for us to send our message across.

What are your plans for this year? Are there programmes lined up for the year? Is there a special event coming up in the year?
Last year we had a whole lot of line up, but covid showed up and disrupted. This year, we are still handicapped because the pandemic is still on. I would say everyone should expect something extra ordinary after this pandemic from the brand Ajegunletotheworld, because one of the Good things the pandemic did for many of us was to go back to our drawing book and re construct. This we really did for the brand Ajegunletotheworld, so let’s stay tuned and expect greatness from this brand after the pandemic or when we will be allowed to work again.
What is your philosophy of life, based on your experience as someone raised in Ajegunle?
I believe Integrity, reaching out to people and majorly been useful to your community/country shouldn’t be far from what you think you want to become in life.
For young ones looking up to you as a role model, what is your advice to them on how to make life meaningful?

I think I have just one advice, which is never stop learning, if you are earning and you are not learning, you can’t move to next stage in life, I believe your growth in life is measured base on your quest to learn.. learning should be normalized are everyday activities for you as a youth just as you drink water everyday.

What are the initial challenges you encountered while setting out as an entrepreneur and how did you scale the hurdled?

No entrepreneur would say he hasn’t faced challenges. What makes you stand out is your ability to hold pressure down and still focus no matter what you come across that is capable of pulling you down. I think patient, perseverance and focus was my key I have been using to scale through.

What are your big business mistake?

Trust and not been able to have back up plan in business.

What is the most memorable moment of your life so far?

The day I become a father, December 7th 2015.
What new insight did you gain about life in the past two years, especially during the Covid-19 pandemic lockdown?

I learnt there is nothing in this life, we just have to make our every day worth living and memorable.

Are you involved in any philanthropy?

People call me a philanthropist or see me as one, because of my generosity towards human, but I don’t call myself one because I believe reaching out to people is suppose to be a normal thing that should have a special name for it.
