The former National Treasurer of the Labour party, Mrs Oluchi Opara, has blamed the continued insecurity problems ravaging the country on lack courage among leaders.
Mrs Opara in an exclusive interview with the Sun newspaper, stated that the country can only win the war, of it can have courageous leaders to in the National and States Assemblies that can address issues headlong without fear or favour.
Oluchi Opara, highlighted that elected members of the National Assembly must rise up to address urgent national issues such as the insecurity that is pleagueing the nation courageously without fear or favour.
She however, remarked that what played out in the Senate plenary, days back where Distinguished Senator beg the question could be a set back to the efforts being made to bring insecurity to an end.

“I watched with keen interest during the debate at the Senate and I urge them to always show this courage and stand firm whenever necessary, especially as millions of Nigerians continue to face untold hardships due to unchecked terrorist activities and the government’s inability to effectively halt their operations, she said.
While commending Senator Abaribe’s courage and patriotism, that at a time like this, the people need leaders who will speak boldly, defend justice, and address the root causes of our collective suffering.
“I watched Senator Abaribe faulted the continuous habit of shifting blame to past administrations, he stressed that the challenges confronting Nigerians today are unfolding under the watch of the present government. True leadership, requires taking responsibility, looking inward, and directing energy toward meaningful solutions rather than recycling excuses

Meanwhile, she has prayed that both the Red and Green Chambers rise to the occasion and confront head-on the menace undermining the Nation’s peace, unity, and development.
