INEC FCT Elections

By Seyi Babalola

The Independent National Electoral Commission, ,( INEC), has refuted a fake image circulating online that claims the Commission has set March 26 as the deadline for government officials seeking election to resign.

INEC emphasised in a statement made on Friday via the Commission’s official X handle that the information did not come from the Commission and that the graphics were deceptive and unconfirmed.

The Commission advised members of the public, media organisations, and political stakeholders to completely reject the circulating statement.

INEC reiterated that all official announcements are communicated exclusively through its verified channels, including

The official website: inecnigeria.org, Verified social media platforms, and Official press releases.

Citizens are encouraged to confirm election-related information through these channels and avoid sharing unverified content that could cause confusion.

The Commission reaffirmed its commitment to providing accurate, timely, and transparent information to the public.
