Presidential candidate of the People’s Democratic Party (PDP), Alhaji Atiku Abubakar, concluded his nationwide campaign in his homestate of Adamawa, yesterday, with promises of getting Nigeria working again.
Atiku jocularly told the mammoth crowd in Yola, the state capital, that he is Nigeria’s gift of love to the North East and the people of Adamawa, on Valentine’s Day.
Atiku also called on Nigerians to vote out Buhari “for the hunger, poverty and insecurity he brought to the government.
“I am not here to campaign because this is my home. It is time to vote Buhari out because his government has failed Nigerians and they lack the capacity to keep to their promises.”
Speaking on the occasion, PDP National Chairnan, Uche Secondus, said “it is time for Nigerians to choose someone that will drive the economy of the country out of poverty and create jobs for millions of youths who lost their jobs.
“Don’t allow INEC rig these elections and INEC must also resist pressure to postpone the election. Choose someone who will not rule the country with cabals, someone who has the capacity to make this country work again.”
Two former governors of the state, Boni Haruna and Bala James Ngilari, attended the campaign rally and, their presence rested reports that the duo had left the PDP for the All Progressives Congress.
Earlier, in a Facebook message, Atiku urged Nigerians to defend their votes.
“You have the power; do not give it away by staying at home. Let your voice be heard this Saturday,” he said.
