IMT Enugu now offers diploma in law, cybersecurity, AI, others

The Institute of Management and Technology (IMT), Enugu has secured accreditation from the National Board for Technical Education (NBTE) to offer five new courses at national and higher national diploma levels. The five new courses include National Diploma (ND) in Law, Higher National Diploma (HND) in Library & Information Science, Higher National Diploma (HND) in Cyber Security, Higher National Diploma (HND) in Artificial Intelligence (AI), and Higher National Diploma (HND) in Mechanical Engineering (Automotive).

This was contained in a statement by the institute’s Public Relations Officer, Mark Eze.

The approval followed the institute’s accreditation, re-accreditation, and resource inspection of the five courses.

The achievement, according to the statement, marks the second successful NBTE accreditation exercise for the IMT in 2025, underscoring its sustained commitment to academic excellence, quality assurance, and compliance with national standards in technical and technological education.

Part of the statement read: “Strategically, the recent accreditation, re-accreditation, and resource inspection, which took place between November 18 and 20, 2025, brought into existence five new programmes. These include National Diploma (ND) Law, Higher National Diploma (HND) Library & Information Science, Higher National Diploma (HND) Cyber Security, Higher National Diploma (HND) Artificial Intelligence, and Higher National Diploma (HND) Mechanical Engineering (Automotive)

“The management of the institute gives all glory to God Almighty for this resounding success.

“We express gratitude to the Governor of Enugu State, Dr. Peter Mbah, for his visionary leadership, unwavering support for education, and continuous investment in the revitalisation of IMT and the education sector in Enugu State.

“Special appreciation also goes to the management of the institute, led by the Rector, Prof. Gozie Ogbodo, for his purposeful leadership and strategic direction; the Deans, Heads of Departments, academic and non-academic staff, whose dedication, professionalism, and teamwork ensured adequate preparation and compliance with NBTE requirements.

“The institute also acknowledges the invaluable cooperation and discipline of its students, whose conduct and engagement contributed positively to the accreditation process.

“This latest accreditation success further reaffirms IMT’s position as a centre of excellence in technical, technological and management education, committed to producing skilled, innovative, and globally competitive graduates.

“The institute remains resolute in its mission to uphold high academic standards and contribute meaningfully to human capital development in Enugu State and Nigeria at large.”
