Members of Imo State University Alumni Association under the leadership of Okey Ozumba will be gathering in Yenagoa, Bayelsa State, for its national convention.
The event tagged ‘ Glory Land 2023’ is scheduled to run from Thursday, August 10 through Sunday, August 13.
A statement by the body’s National Organizing Secretary who doubles as Chairman, Convention Planning Committee, Nze Chimaraoke Nwosu notes that the national convention kicks off on Thursday.
According to him other activities lined up include Road Walk, Food Feast, Courtesy Visit, Boat Cruise, City Tour, Novelty Football Match and Old School Star Hangout in the evening.
Nwosu stated that the event which is the sixth edition will climax on Saturday, August 12 for the Convention proper to be chaired by the Deputy Vice Chancellor, Federal University, Otueke, Prof. Chris Onyeama.
He added that the Deputy Governor of Bayelsa State, Senator Lawrence Ewrhudjakpo is expected to deliver a Keynote speech while Chairman, Traditional Rulers Council, Bayelsa State, King Bubaraye Dakolo will grace the occasion as the Royal Father of the day.

Prof. Akachi Odoemene of the Federal University, Otueke slated as the Guest Lecturer while Dr. Paulley Godgift of Niger Delta University Amassona and Director General, Inter Party Advisory committee IPAC, Prince Chinedu Obi are discussants.
He urged members and intending ones to attend noting that Annual General Meeting of IMSU Alumni as well as award presentation will be part of the Saturday event before the curtain is drawn on the convention.
