The state chairman of the Labour Party ( LP), Nze Cyril Akujobi has said that there is no division in the state Labour following the recent judgment of the Bayelsa state High court has recognised the Alhaji Bashiru Lamidi Apapa led national Working Committee of the Labour Party.
He also said that going by the said Court Judgment that he remains the authentic state chairman and said that any other person claiming to Labour Party Chairman is an impersonator .
Addressing Journalists yesterday in Owerri, Imo state capital, Nze Akujobi said: “It is no longer news that same Justice Emmanuel Akko’s court, in its ruling, declared as illegal and unlawful, the governorship primaries conducted by the court-suspended national chairman of the party, Barr Julius Abure, in Imo, Bayelsa and Kogi States”.
According to him, in every contest, there must be a winner and a loser, adding that the judiciary has given victory to both Lamidi Apapa and Evang Joseph Ikechukwu Ukaegbu.
He said he has extended the olive branch to all aggrieved members of the party to come back and join hands in order to achieve victory in the forthcoming governorship election in the state.
The Chairman urged Imo citizens to disregard insinuations that Labour Party is divided in the state, saying: “we are focused, we are strategic and we are prepared to take over Imo in order to save the state from further balkanization”.
