A chieftain of the All Progressives Congress (APC) and governorship aspirant in Imo State, Chief Obioma Success Akagburuonye, has promised good governance and transformative development if elected into office.
Akagburuonye stated this while addressing political stakeholders from across Imo State at his Hope Rising Foundation Secretariat in Owerri on Thursday. Akagburuonye thanked the Governor of Imo State, Senator Hope Uzodimma, for his giant strides and achievements—particularly his insistence on the Charter of Equity—and promised to build on his legacies if elected.
The lawyer, who stated he is a product of prayer and grace, asserted that the hand of God was present in the emergence of Governor Uzodimma, whom he described as a great man who defeated two incumbents to become Governor.
He pledged to take Imo to a higher level in the spirit of continuity, promising that if he does not secure the governorship ticket of the APC, he would give his maximum support to any other candidate from the Owerri zone whose turn it is, according to the Charter of Equity, to produce the next Governor.
Commending Akagburuonye, Uchenna Ewuribe said he was deeply touched by the aspirant’s remarks, describing him as a very humble and amiable individual who has arrived at the right time.
He further commended Akagburuonye for his strong faith in God and assured him of the support of the Imo State political elite.
