You may have brilliant ideas, you may also be able to invent unbeatable strategies – but if the group you lead and depend on to execute your plans is not responsive and understand the times, your ideas will mean nothing or the command chain clandestinely punctured. In other words, one of the big lessons of war is knowing that: “ It is the structure of the army that gives a commander’s strategies force. “
Rising from a timely, important, and strategic political meeting of the Imo State Chapter of Big Tent, on Wednesday, July 26, 2023, with the theme: Imo State Big Tent Leadership Performance Appraisals And Strategies: Expanding The Frontiers Of Political Participation Through Renewed Membership Drive, a vote of confidence was explicitly passed on the duo of Hon. Dr. Fabian Ihekweme , South East Zonal Coordinator, and Barr. Udo Mbu Agoha, Imo State Coordinator, Big Tent.

After an objective, thorough assessment and critical performance appraisals of the Imo State Chapter of Big Tent’s robust political participation and grassroots mobilization during and aftermath of the last general elections, and Imo State House of Assembly election, respectively; both the conservatives and independent election monitoring observers gave highly impressive report about the group’s honest commitment and unrelenting efforts in galvanizing support for the presidential candidate of Labour Party in the 2023 election, Mr. Peter Obi, National Assembly candidates of Labour Party across the three Senatorial Districts in Imo State: Imo West Senatorial District; Imo East Senatorial District; Imo North Senatorial District; as well as House of Representatives candidates in the various Federal Constituencies in the State.
In lieu of above, the Local Government Council Coordinators nay delegates across the 27 LGAs in the state, in a unanimous resolution before the press which was monitored by 4th Estate Reporters, endorsed Dr. Fabian Ihekweme through a thunderous vote of confidence, mandating him to use his wealth of political experience, exposure, intellect, strong presence in Imo political turf , wilder reach and contacts to reposition Imo Big Tent ahead November 11, 2023 governorship election, in Imo State.
The well attended meeting by different structural heads of the various support groups of Obidatti- Big Tent Presidential Campaign Council across the 27LGAs in the state clamouring for good governance, spoke separately but on the same page as they warned all contending Labour Party candidates to settle their rift as to reach an amicable political compromise, or face massive rejection in the forthcoming election.
A deeply concerned Chief Ozo Collins Anuruo, Isiala Mbano LGA Coordinator of Big Tent, giving the controversy that visited Labour Party aftermath of its governorship primary election in Imo, sternly urged the South East Coordinator, Dr. Fabian Ihekweme, to seize the moment and chart a new political course for Big Tent in the interest of the party and good people of Imo state.
In responding to the expressed vote of confidence on him, and renewed mandate by Imo State Big Tent to keep leading them, a rather motivated -Obidient Fabian Ihekweme; commended the resilience of Big Tent expanded excos and all those in attendance for their genuine commitment, energy, show of solidarity and unalloyed support to drive home the recovery of Peter Obi’s Presidential mandate, while urging them to continue to mobilize people for Peter Obi as well as engage in all political rallies and awareness for effective result ahead November 11, 2023, governorship election in Imo State.
During his closing remarks, the Imo State Co- ordinator of Big Tent, Hon. Barr. Udo Mbu Agoha, thanked the leaders of the group across the state for their perseverance and for reposing confidence in the South East Coordinator, Hon. Dr. Fabian Ihekweme, and himself. He however, stated that at the appropriate time, the entire Imo Big Tent family would gather again to make pronouncements on the forthcoming November 11 governorship election in the state.
