With a burning desire to make a mark in the Nigerian music scene, rising artiste Shefzy is ready to take on the new challenges ahead. In an exclusive interview with our team, Shefzy shared his excitement and determination to make his mark in the industry.
Shefzy, whose real name is Shefiu Shina, is an indigene of Iseyin in Oyo state, Nigeria. Born on October 12, 1997, he was raised in Lagos, the city known for producing some of the biggest stars in the Nigerian music industry. Growing up, Shefzy found inspiration in the music of legendary artistes such as 2Baba, Wizkid, and Olamide. He admired their unique styles and the impact they had on the music scene.
When asked about the motivation behind his decision to pursue a career in music, Shefzy replied, “I have always had a deep passion for music. It has been a part of me since I was a child. It is my way of expressing myself and connecting with people. I believe that music has the power to move hearts and transform lives. That’s why I knew deep down that I had to pursue a career in music.”
Shefzy’s passion and determination didn’t go unnoticed. He recently inked a management deal with Fadi Record, a renowned Nigerian label. The deal, which was signed on June 2, 2023, marked a significant milestone in his blossoming career. “Signing with Fadi Record is a dream come true for me. I am grateful to have such a supportive team behind me, guiding me towards success,” he said.
When asked about his vision for his music, Shefzy enthused, “I want my music to touch people’s souls and resonate with them on a deep level. I want to create a sound that is uniquely mine, a fusion of different genres that reflects my eclectic taste in music. I want to be known for my authenticity and the ability to connect with my listeners.”
Shefzy’s journey in the music industry hasn’t been without its fair share of challenges. Like every aspiring artiste, he had to overcome obstacles and face rejections. However, these setbacks only fueled his determination to succeed. “I believe that challenges are a part of the journey towards success. They push you to rise above your limitations and grow as an artiste. I’ve learned to embrace them and use them as stepping stones towards achieving my goals,” he shared.
The young artiste takes pride in his unique adlibs that have become synonymous with his brand. “Let dem bull,” Shefzy said, laughing. “It started as an inside joke among my friends and me. We used to say it to cheer each other on whenever we faced obstacles. Eventually, it became my catchphrase and a part of my identity as an artiste. It represents my determination to overcome any challenge that comes my way.”
With his management team at Fadi Record by his side, Shefzy is gearing up to release his debut single, which he promised would be an instant hit. “I have been working tirelessly on this song, pouring my heart and soul into it. I can’t wait for my fans to hear it and connect with the emotions behind the lyrics,” he shared.
