The governor of Akwa Ibom State Mr. Udom Emmanuel has said he can’t wait to step down from the sit of the government for his successor.
The governor said while casting his vote at his polling unit Awa Iman Unit 1 that he was his excited with all sense of fulfillment in the past years as the governor hence the result fir being the first governor in the country to set up a transition committee.
“Whatever has a beginning must have an end. I can’t wait to go, this eight years is like eighty years. So I’m excited that they’re going to elect another person that will take over from me.
“And also, what interests me most is the peaceful conduct I have in my local government. I pray it would be the same thing allover the state.
He however told the press that there are lots of fake people around the place disrupting the peaceful electoral process in the area.
“I’ve just been told of fake people all over the place, they just told me now that one Rita Okemesi that came in from Abuja with a truckload of policemen and she is just disrupting elections.
“I’ve reported her to the AIG, hopefully the police authority will take a serious action against her. The police are meant to ensure free, fair and credible election but what she is doing in Eket is going to create a lot of problems. I’ve reported accordingly and I expect action to be taken.”
The governor however added that no system is 100 percent perfect.
“We can score 90 percent here with only 10 percent error margin. It will still be excellent as far as the system is run by human beings it can never be Hundred percent”. He said.
